We were in the lunch room and I was talking about how hard it's been trying to find an affordable apartment here in the city I work. Right now I live at home since finishing my masters and 40 minute carpool with family to the office. I've been wanting to live in the city to a) get my freedom back and b) get out of some shitty hone experiences. He comes in while I'm talking about how sad it is that is has to be while you can make $60k per year and still be eligible for subsidized affordable housing here as affordable is $1500. He comes in, basically says just live at home a while and save your money, invest, and don't just spend on the lifestyle and be a part of the system. Sir, I'm $120'000 in student debt and will be paying $1000 a month in payments soon for 10 years. People from your generation were literally buying houses out of highschool and I'm 26 with a masters degree and can barily afford to scrounge while your company pays me $20 an hour (which will hopefully be more when I resign my contract in September).
