I’d like some genuine elaboration besides it’s just greedy corporate parasites. I’m genuinely curious on where this originated and what has prevented it from being altered. Is it a means of keeping people occupied? Is it based off of the archaic saying “idle hands do the work of the devil.”? Most of all will it ever change or is it something so engrained that it’ll be this way for another hundred years?
