I called OSHA and reported the negligent response to the malfunctioning freezer that had been dropping temp for months and defrosting food, and three days after their surprise inspection I was fired.
This organization is a corrupt capitalist criminal enterprise of carrot and stick wages and “look the other way” economics. In what amounts to slavery for the worker amidst a tier of overworked salaried employees having micro authority over the rest of the hourly workers.
It is a system where there is no voice but the one overhead, and one over that and one over that. There is no central control.
Last year I filed a sexual harassment charge that went nowhere. I was verbally assaulted by a coworker (team lead) and referred to as a “little bitch” for complaining about the oven being used overnight to cook pizza and other items that I had to clean up in the morning. I was referred to speak with my store manager, which amounted to nothing as he has no interest in anything but his bottom line.
WALMART needs to be unionized. Workers need to have better representation and a voice.
