Why are we being sold on dental “insurance” as a benefit for working?

I work roughly 60 to 80 hours a week just to try to cover rent bills car payments insurances and everything else I have to pay for. Recently had tooth issues and had to have them addressed and was hoping actual dental insurance would help. Come to find out dental insurance itself is pretty awful across-the-board for most people. Even with this so-called insurance my cost out-of-pocket per visit was usually somewhere between $1200-$1500 a visit. Still sitting here with one broken molar from a popcorn kernel that I still can’t get fixed because my savings is pretty much gone and I need $2000 to have a crown. I’m getting real tired of working for fucking nothing… The first $8500 I spent just wasn’t enough apparently
