Why can Companies just do this?

Bit of Background: We live in Arkansas, and the company is multinational. My Love had did not wear his steel toed boots to work, we get it, his fault. But there is more than just this I promise. Was sent home, told to show up next night with pair. Problem was that his had broken through the bottoms of his old ones. So he got intouch with HR Head. Explained everything including that he could have a new pair by Monday. (This happen on Wednesday) Head of HR told him come in and see if they could get the outer steel toes to fit his shoes. Nope not a chance as they were sized for med, he would need xl. But he went anyway. HR Head, said “see what you could do.” We did, and he had steel toed boots to go in. Phoned HR back, and told him. Was sent home, told to show up next night with pair.
Problem was that his had broken through the bottoms of his old ones. So he got intouch with HR Head. Explained everything including that he could have a new pair by Monday. (This happen on Wednesday) Head of HR told him come in and see if they could get the outer steel toes to fit his shoes.

HR Head, said “see what you could do.”
We did, and he had steel toed boots to go in. Phoned HR back, and told him. Love was told show up for work that night.
After he spent pretty much all day locating boots that we could afford and in his size, and driving to work, only to be told by the supervisor for 3rd shift that he had received a call from HR head, about 30 minutes before shift that Love was fired.
Now keep in mind head of HR did not call Love at all. (He has his number as he had been calling all day from his personal cell phone)
Along with this HT Head has also, (and yes I have proof of each)
~Not entered the direct deposit information correctly
(Only found this out after asking for over 3 weeks when would he be paid. Yes 3 weeks of asking the same person, them knowing for at least 2 of the weeks they had messed up, but not being owning the mistake and trying to repair it.)
~Not entered home address correctly, only know this because a paper check was mailed out, and never arrived. When asked by another member of office staff what our address was, she stated that that was not what was in the computer. )HR Head enters all addresses into the computer as part of their job.
~Had his e-mail and sign in for all work computers listed as a DEAD man that worked for the company over 10 years ago.
~Did not get paid for over 3 weeks after staring, when should have been paid about 1 week after.
The base problem appears to be that HR is lazy. I have asked around and found that he was fired from 3 other HR Head jobs in the area for the same thing.
I am just pissed. Love went to work, did an amazing job, to the point the supervisors were willing to work with him, in order to try and get him back on. But of course must go through Head of HR.
I am at a loss. How can this even be legal?
I have the proof of wrong e-mail, etc. As it was where all his 401k and insurance info was sent. The page for them, when I was helping him sign up showed where they went. Even after Primary e-mail was changed. Until HR approved it, it did not go into effect.
And nope we have never received anything about those, as HR never changed it.
