- Current employer – exposed me to COVID last week, developed symptoms over the weekend and tested positive for COVID Monday.
- They “want” me to return on Monday the 27th.
- Meanwhile, I managed to finally get some job offers extended to me – two in total.
- I've been fighting through symptoms, and this COVID brain fog, all week. I asked for some additional time to consider the offers and set up discussions with the respective employers next week.
- I have two more interviews scheduled pending a negative COVID test and my desire for in-person (masking required, social distancing) or virtual meetings.
I wish I wouldn't have caught COVID because I wanted to have a one-on-one with my current supervisor before I talked to these other companies more in depth. My departure is going to make waves, and I wanted the opinion of someone who has worked with me for the last three years to weigh in and give their advice on what they felt would be appropriate. I guess I'm going to have to go with my gut (and my gut alone) on this one.
It's all the more intriguing now that someone else in the office resigned yesterday or today. Again, another series of “key departures” over the last six months that make our facility look like a shit show. The next week is going to be very interesting.
