I currently make $17/hr, which I know isn't a lot in this economy, but it's enough to keep me content. I worked 80 hours this last pay period, which is standard for this job. I should be getting almost $1400 for this check, but taxes make it less than $1200. Why is this fair? What have we done to deserve to pay Uncle Sam money just to live?
