Why does this sub love unions?

I see this sub praise unions a lot but the truth is most unions are objectively awful for workers. They are overly expensive, run by control freaks and end up costing more jobs than what it is worth while using intimidation tactics. I am actually apart of a union and I hate it. I have to give 1/3 of my income to Union bills and they basically run my life. I once got fined because I went in to work for an hour on a day that was vacation time. Just one hour. Never mind the fact I maybe wanted to actually work that day and would prefer to manage my vacation schedule myself but no the union tells me what to do. We also constantly are told to go on strike for literally no reason at all. Like we ask what are their demands. Higher wages? More fair hours?…

No just for “solidarity” with some other strikes that don't involve me.

This is all happening in France, a country with incredibly powerful labor unions. My friend who lives in Copenhagen says finding a job without being in a union is hell and one time he was literally beaten because he was hired to replaced workers on strike. Please explain how any of that is beneficial to the workers?

The fact is with this anti-work movement is nothing will ever be good enough. First you wanted $15 an hour but now it isn't good enough you want more. Then when the minimum wage is $30 an hour you'll say it needs to be $60 an hour.

There is a reason why pre pandemic, countries like Denmark and France never could break below 5-7% unemployment because of ridiculous unions. For people who praise the common workers you basically want union bosses to act just as tyrannical and greedy as the big bad corporate heads. Seriously afaik unions and union bosses are no better than Bezos and Amazon
