Why don’t work-from-the-office companies start addressing the housing crisis in major cities instead of blaming employees who don’t want to commute?

Maybe they could convert their offices into low cost housing. Corporate offices are apart of the lack of supply in housing in major cities. I know plenty of people who'd love to live in the city but simply cannot afford it. So since companies want people back in the office so badly, why not start building housing?
