at a past job i was going above and beyond, even wanting to design scratch games when i didnt had my usual work. One girl that no one else was getting along with, reported me for some cartoon meme (a bunny holding a bomb) and they let me go. I used to wake up at 5AM (2-3 days a week) to drive 1:15m one way. the manager also started micro-managing asking what ive done at 11am. Literally lumberg.
At my new job… the managers and boss are assholes and no matter how much you work, they will always pretend its kinda slow. You can do the impossible – 40 tasks instead of 10 in a day…and next day they will say “oh man only 20 tasks today?” And they are completely shameless, they assume you are stupid enough to somehow chug along like a machine and worry yourself to death.
so im working pretty slow and enjoying social media and working out at home. Dont be fooled. Working faster will never get you a special raise or a promotion. its all nepotism. its just not worth it.
im going to be a lazy leech getting a paycheck until the day i die
