I'm extremely agitated. I'm a college student and I'm currently running on fumes as the money I saved up over the summer is running out. Previously I have been able to find jobs in a week or 2 and start almost immediately with no problem but for some reason the search this time was impossible. I applied to 8 jobs over a month long period and only heard back from 1. By the time I was hired my first shift was halfway through Febuary. They told me at the job interview they have a lot of employees so most people are only scheduled 1-2 shifts a week and you might have to go a week without working once in a while. I'm thinking okay that's fine with me, I'm pretty busy anyways.
Well all the scheduling has been done up till March 13th and I don't have a SINGLE shift. My first shift was Febuary 18th. So basically I'm going a month without working at all.
I wish they had just not hired me so I could continue the search. I guess i could statt from square one but by the time I find another job the semester will be practically over.
Even worse, I've tried to pick up 3 shifts on the app they provided and everytime they called me and were like “Oh sorry someone else offered to take it in person before we saw your request.” They're basically refusing to let me work. I'm so annoyed.
