Word through the rumor mill at my job is that we are about to be scheduled 7 days a week for the rest of the year.

So the company I work at is well known for making off-road work/leisure vehicles in multiple varieties. I live in Alabama and work at a plant building some of these vehicles. My questions are: even if we follow the employee handbook to the letter we will still be fired if we don't comply with their mandatory overtime. Now with us supposedly being scheduled 7 days a week for the rest of the year (not counting a few holidays and any potential vacation days we have) what is the legality of making us work 7 days a week and often 10+hrs a day?
