Hi. I'm from Russia and work at the biggest bank in the country rn. It's it department to be precise.
My manager is a cool dude. The real leader (if you ever saw that meme pic where 2 types of leaders depicted – one pulls the stone along other people, and points at the direction, and the second leader – sitting on top of the stone, being pulled by workers.
He's literally the first type)
I clock out at 6pm, this guy stays additional 1-2, because of the constant resource wars with other teams – to claw out better position for our team
So, i think you get the picture.
So one of the days, going as usual – i work on my stuff, my manager again on another online meeting via zoom, at the desk 3m from me.
Then comes in this guy, who's his head and be like: “Weeell, what's the problem?” – talking to him. My manager relays the stuff. He sounds kinda vulnerable and sorry, while the superior is kinda passive aggressive.
Then, he drops something like that: “Well, i don't even understand why I'm HERE in the first place” – it was said in a way, like he's making a favour to my manager. Really entitled and inconsiderate. Take into account also that in English it may not sound like rude, but in Russian it's definitely not polite.
I'm just appalled. Oh, also forgot: I'm 6'5″, 260 lbs, 23yo. Been to the gym since 16. Ripped. And the contrast is even more apparent when compared to your regular it people – hunched, skinny-fat, meek.
I'm not. Neither physically, nor mentally.
I turn around in my chair (i faced off of them talking) and stare at him. (Because i don't like verbally arguing with people, i developed for myself a tactic to just stare them down in a menacing way – you look between person's eyebrows, without looking away. And after they say something, you don't answer, just stare. You may answer something short, after the ask the second time. So anyways, coupled with my appearance it works awesome) I don't say shit, i just stare. After a couple of seconds he notices and asks: “what?”. I'm silent. He waits for another 3-4 seconds, clearly caught off guard with this interaction, then looks at my manager, then back at me, asks again. I reply “Nothing”. Stare at him for another 2-3 secs and turn away.
The supervisor ends the conversation shortly after on the excuse and goes off.
I happened 4 months ago. He never came again since then, even though he used to come before like 1-2 times a month
