Work has cut my pay by $2 per hour the last three of four weeks with no explanation

I've emailed HR and my manager and have heard nothing back in days. It's like they're ignoring the issue. I'm down a few hundred dollars in pay from those three weeks. The $2 pay discrepancy is equal to a differential for the particular work I do that I have not been getting paid despite doing that work. My employer is just not paying me this differential anymore, even while other employees get it for the same work. I have an attorney, who specializes in labor and employment. Is it time for me to turn this matter over to my attorney to handle it.
