Work is actually hell

“Man, Thank God it's Friday. Thank God 5 of the 7 days of my life are fucking over because I hate 5/7ths of my life.” I think this may be one of the most depressing quotes I've ever heard. I've found that, for me, work is much worse than “a necessary nuisance” for society to function. A “necessary nuisance” does not drive people to commit suicide. A “necessary nuisance” does not drive people to get drunk when they get home because they hate their life. A “necessary nuisance” does not cause people to cry and self harm themselves in the bathroom. Is it really “a wonderful world” if your average Joe is having to take pills to be happy? Seriously all of the corporate world is bullshit. All of it. Why do bosses want you to cradle their balls? Are they not making plenty of money? Why do they have…

“Man, Thank God it's Friday. Thank God 5 of the 7 days of my life are fucking over because I hate 5/7ths of my life.”

I think this may be one of the most depressing quotes I've ever heard.

Why do they have to treat their employees like absolute shit? Every employee at every company is a human being. Most of them are tired. Most of them hate their lives. Most of them would rather die than have to work for a living because seriously what is the point? It's not like your average employee has time to do anything that makes him or her happy.

And then this toxic mindset from bosses and management has bled into your average Joe's mindset. If you tell your average employee that you hate work and you wish you would never have to work again, they would go beyond saying “so does everyone”. The average Joe will actually violently and loudly screech in a demonic tone if you tell them that you legitimately hate work. Why? Surely they are not happy with their life either. How can anyone be happy spending 5/7th of their week having their soul drained from their body?

And work legitimately does drain the soul from the body. It's not like people can have the “I'll bust in, work wight hours, bust out” mentality. No matter how much they try to have this mentality, it always comes back to bite them in the ass. “Doing your job isn't enough, you need to do more than your job. Working 40 hours per week isn't enough, you need to work more than 40 hours per week.” And if you disagree and tell people that you don't like going “above and beyond” and you want to just fucking go home from the hellscape that is your life, they will once again demonically screech. They will call you lazy and no good. They will call you a piece of shit. That will consider you to be absolutely worthless garbage.

And this is most people's lives. Everywhere. What the fuck is the point? Why did we do this to ourselves? What is the solution? Is there a solution?
