If you're interviewing for any position, make sure you find out company policy on employee productivity monitoring AND what methods/tools are currently deployed for this purpose.
What used to be a thing primarily in logistics/warehousing/call centers is being deployed across many industries since the pandemic start. Often very poorly deployed because the job tasks are so much more varied and poorly documented/time studied. Paychecks are often docked or employees released because tools fail to capture required work and report the time as idle. Payroll theft is the number one form of theft.
So – when the interview gets around to, “So, why do you want to work for XXX?” they shouldn't be shocked to hear you say, “Money. I expect to be paid. I need money. You need work done. I work, you pay”. That IS the point of tge monitoring after all. Even when poorly implemented. They want to make sure you are doing the things for the money.
Assume, especially if working remotely, that you are being monitored. A VERY expensive program is cheap compared to them having a supervisor watching you constantly – and if it tells them to dock your pay, it pays for itself even faster. It's not a bug. It's a feature. Check your paycheck.
