I asked for a couple of weeks disability leave from my workplace for treatment. After treatment, issues did not get fully resolved and needed accommodations. Submitted all paperwork to third-party company my employer hired with diagnosis, treatment, and accommodation outlined by physician. Work nurse hired directly by employer called me and coerced the diagnosis out of me although I indicated multiple times that I do not feel comfortable sharing that information with her and if she needed any information she can reach out to said third party. I provided her with all symptoms and why the accommodations are needed and she kept pushing for more. She threatened me with not being able to come back to work if I don't provide her with enough information since it is needed for “management decision”. The work nurse failed to obtain consent and the diagnosis she obtained was not drastically needed. I feel like my dignity as a patient and confidentiality has been stripped away.
Am I crazy for thinking this shouldn't be legal?
