First and foremost I put stole in quotations because what they did is completely legal and I am in no way looking at any recourse or even pushing this to HR (they will and have fired people for less).
Anyways, last week I worked 48 hours in 4 days. I used a PTO day on friday and we had this monday off for memorial day.
I was RELYING on my work to pay me 16 hours of overtime (8 for the worked overtime and 8 for the vacation time) since I had worked 4 12 hour shifts. Instead, I had recieved only 8 hours of overtime. In the state of Ohio this is how overtime apparently works.
I should be payed x1.5 for every hour AFTER an 8 hour shift, NOT hours “physically worked” over 40 hours in a week.
The point of overtime is literally I am selling away my health, my personal time, my time with my girlfriend, and my time for recreation in return for more wages.
In the grand scheme, Im not going to starve, and Im too tired from working another 12 today to even bring it up or fight back. Fuck work.
