I’m a supervisor in reception and at times I do night shift. Honestly I had thought that I would get paid the extra night shift money as it’s mostly standard in any hotel I have worked in London so far I have worked in 3 different ones.
Now the team member informed me that he gets extra for night shift and it came about £200-250 for this month as he told me but I haven’t seen it with my own eyes. I highly doubt he would lie about this. Even tho I am being paid more in general as I’m a supervisor shouldn’t I get extra pay as well if the team member gets it?
I was thinking to take it up with the General Manager, Reception Manager and the HR people. I want to ask for an increase as the past few months I been working there and done nights I haven’t gotten a single extra penny even tho I am doing the duties of night manager.
Apparently it was written in the contract and I agreed to cover and I mentioned to my reception manager that I do not mind covering nights of course but I do want extra money for unsocial hours of work.
Do I have any ground to stand on here? Can I ask to be paid for the previous nights that I have worked? I will ask for an increase in salary too cos I feel like I am doing more compared to the duty manager who just moans and laze about as she is a bit sickly with some disease or smth
