Sometimes when I left I would get stuck on base for an hour because of their security policies for out outbound traffic. Traffic would just sit there at a standstill and not move. It would make me over an hour late getting home. When I asked HR about the “on time” policy and why it doesn’t apply to getting home late they told me that it’s just how things are and it’s my responsibility outside of work hours. Like….what? I was late every single day so I never listened.
