Worker existential dread is now being down played with an insulting moniker.

I know most everyone here knows the feeling. Enjoying your downtime and suddenly you're hit with an emptiness that your small reprieve from the forced grind is coming to an end. That you'll be doing this every week for the rest of your life until you die, and if you're lucky you'll get a few years of quietude if you can retire. This dread created this sub, it has pushed workers to unionize, motivated people to strike, brings workers together in solidarity, and is a very real and tangible force caused by the collective grief of the working class. I saw an ad for something called the “Sunday Scaries”. Google it if you want to see all the drivel published out there. Reading a bit into it, it is what mainstream media is calling this dread. An insulting name you'd give to a child's anxiety over a trivial thing. This feeling is a tangible realization that entire generations of people are giving their lives for a system that exploits them, keeps them in poverty, and there is no end to it.

This is another hit piece on the working classes movement towards a fair system. Akin to seeing articles about how wfh isn't sustainable or productive, how we should all be working more, etc. Don't let the media trivialize your fair feelings towards an exploitative system. They'll keep trying, over and over at every angle they can. Keep loud and stand for your rights. We are all human, and we all deserve better.
