Workers in America have to return after having a child sometimes only 2 weeks after birth, yet a kitten/puppy has to stay with its mother for 8 weeks

Tell me how that makes sense at all. I’m not a veterinarian or anything either, but 8 weeks also for a cat is a lot more than even 8 weeks for a human considering that they have shorter life spans and grow up faster.
