I'm not even 18-19 I'm 23, been working full time for 6 years and older employees sometimes treat me like a kid. They can be nice but they have the mentality where it's like if I make a mistake in front of them or if it's my first time doing something, they'll be impatient/overreact and they'll do it themselves. Or they just react too fast by assumption..
I'm seen as a child and treated like one. I keep to myself at work, I just take it in and don;t give attitude because these people are better than me and have more experience.
Sometimes ,it's not mentoring what they do it's more like they're at the job for 10 years and they'll half explain something (“Do this.”??) and get mad when I do it not the right way. I should do my part and ask questions too.. I've had other jobs where I was let to do the job and I ended up being really good.
This is at a catering company where I work as an odd job… a lot of the employees are 35-55.. They even treat the 27 year old like a kid sometimes and in turn he treats me like I can''t do anything properly.. it's the tone not the words they use.. maybe they still see me as a new person
I feel like I'm guilty of this when I am around teenagers at my regular job..
