working at the local grocery store was awful.

I would see people coming so naturally I'd stop what I was doing and wait for them, make sure I was ready. So I do that, then the guy says “looks like you're just standing around doing nothing!” I simply say, “I saw you coming.” He said something like “ah that's fair.” A good few weeks later, same routine. I'm dealing with price tags, I see someone coming, so I stop with the tags and get ready for them to arrive. It's the same guy of course. He says the same thing, “looks like you're just standing here doing nothing!” I remembered this guy but he didn't remember me. But after he said that, this time I said jokingly, “well you know how it is, minimum wage minimum effort.” And he lost all joy/kindness in his face and tone after I said that. He grumbled “a jobs a job” and…

He grumbled “a jobs a job” and then she didn't say a single word to me after. He just left angrily in silence. I didn't like working at the grocery store.
