Every year, they tell me that they are working on it. My coworkers get W9s, but my bosses keep saying, “but they don't get benefits, healthcare, etc…” as if to dismiss it. I only care that I don't have to come up with money for taxes at the end of the year. To be honest, I don't care whether or not they are doing me a favor by not providing me with a W9. Whatever strategies I devise to take advantage of a 1099 do not appeal to me at the moment. Why aren't they providing me with a W9? What can I do to get one?
