…so I reluctantly declined another offer around that level because two labs from this same research campus had extended me offers that suited better and the other job required a more immediate response.
Well, I just got an email today while waiting on my official offer letters that HR refuses to pay more than 17/hr. The two labs theoretically pay the same as it’s the same job title, so I was expecting ~22/hr for the other as well and they had verbally confirmed that 21-24 seemed appropriate.
I have a Bachelor’s in a rigorous scientific field and years of relevant experience and this was at a state university so I let my guard down. So disappointed in the system.
