Workplace spying is being accepted and i find it infuriating

I just finished listening to this episode of The Daily:https://www.nytimes.com/spotlight/podcasts, and i knew that workplace spying was bad but i didn't know it was this bad. during the whole episode i kept thinking “if they rolled this out at my workplace, that would be my last day”. Granted I'm a bit neuro atypical so my work style involves time away from my keyboard to think and plan, but why is anyone accepting this intrusion? its just the rich and powerful trying to find any excuse to dock pay so they can keep more for themselves and their shareholders masters. I know about mouse jigglers, but that concedes the ground to the corporations that installing these spying tools is ok in the first place. sorry for the rant, but I want to know if I'm off base – would you tolerate these intrusions in your workplace?
