I heard on Democracy Now that the population of Qatar is like 250 000 people, and that 95% of the workforce, 2 million people, are migrant workers who have to take out loans in Qatar in order to work there… without any labour protections… 8 soccer stadiums, hotels etc… thousands of workers have died.
