So, I started a job on 4/18/2022 working overnights 11pm-7am and I've worked every single day since then (to get some overtime.) I told my boss that's cool because I didn't have anything planned over them days, but it's now 5/7/2022 and I could use a day off.
Since day 1; I've improved their paper work to ensure that all customers were getting charged properly, even organized the work office to be more efficient, and have only been late 2 times by an hours, but i made sure that it was OK with whoever was working on 2nd shift.
anyways, yesterday morning when my boss came in; I requested that I get Friday nights off and he said he'd look into it.
well we just hired 6 new people and one of them said they'd be OK with covering one day out of the week overnights (I only want one day off)
apparently they don't like paying me overtime, but they can't really find anyone to work this overnight shift.
anyways, he posted the schedule today before I came into work and I seen that I was working next Friday as well. I even talked to the new guy earlier who said he could work it on Friday. but he's schedule Friday for the PM shift.
So, ultimately, should I just flat out tell my boss I am not coming in on Friday and he needs to figure something out? It's also in my faith that i should not work Fridays sunset to Saturday sunset.
TL:DR – I've worked everyday since I was hired in since 4/18/22 and told my boss today that I wanted Fridays off. I also told him I'd train the new hire on Thursday so he can work Friday, but he ignored me and posted me on the schedule Friday overnight shift (the shift I work). I plan on telling him that I'm not coming in Friday under any circumstance. What will be the outcome?
