Are people against work Or against a job?
I had this idea yesterday, but not sure if it can ever be implemented or if it makes sense to people, so here goes.
I am from Malta, Eu.
The idea: No wages – getting paid with economical shares and splitting profits.
First problem : Finding people that can/want to actually risk having worked for no profit (there is no gurantee the business will work)
Second problem: it takes a couple years for a startup to get good revenues. (Not a risky tech startup, it could be a childcare centre, a fitness centre, moving company – anything )
Third problem: how to keep business going when people decide they have enough shares.. meaning 1 less worker/part owner.
Fourth problem: will there be a finite amount of shares? Or will there be a yearly issueance so as to be able to keep finding and replacing people that want to work with those that want to retire? (For example diluted at 3-5% per year?)
The aim is to lower the operating expenses by not having debts and wages, while also promoting true flexible work.
The shares will be just economical gain. No voting shares will be issued, as they can change the whole idea if someone buys 50%+1 with a different view.
It will be limited to say 40 people that are willing to commit for a set period of time.
Everyone will be needed, just like a normal business. Cleaners, receptionists and what not.
Any thoughts on equity sharing on a small scale?
