I have been at the same company for 3.5 years now and have had various promotions/raises. I have 8 paid sick days. I tried to use one sick day earlier this week when I was having a migraine and they told me it would be unpaid. I have a written and signed offer later stating my paid sick days and they have been paying me sick days for the last 2 years (I can see it on my paystub).
My manager called me into his office the next day to reiterate my day off would be unpaid and that I don’t have paid sick days. He said he must have misspoke in our last company meeting and did not recall other conversations with myself, him and the owner regarding sick days. I told him if they won’t pay me my agreement upon sick days then I am leaving. I walked right out the door and left and have never felt better.
Don’t let these company’s control you.
