My husband took me through the drive thru just now to get a Shamrock Oreo McFlurry and we ordered a large to split. We get up to the window and the kid hands him a regular one. I immediately went, 'This isn't a large,' as I looked up and made eye contact with this kid's most terrified eyes. I suddenly remembered some of the insane stories I've read on here and I said, 'Just kidding, it is, let's go!' and we left.
I can't believe it's like this. I can't believe that kid was that scared. Of me, of his boss for making the wrong size, whatever it is, he is not paid enough by any means. Kids shouldn't be entering into this hostile workforce where they are scared. Working should be about learning new things and contributing to your community. It shouldn't be so terrifying.
