I have been out of work for 3 months. I've given up applying for software jobs (2 years experience) and started applying for mechanic jobs (5 years experience running my own shop). I have heard from several companies that they won't hire me to be a mechanic because they think I will leave for a software job. I have bills I have to pay and I can't get interviews even for changing oil because I worked a desk job. I don't hold any current certifications or degrees and can't afford to get any.
How does this make any sense I want to work and they don't want me. Morons! These companies are run by morons. They'd rather find someone who doesn't have experience who might be bad at their job and might just ghost them than someone who knows what they are doing and needs work.
