Employers need to stop putting ridiculous amounts of years of experience as a requirement. I just started a new job 6 months ago and objectively speaking (statistically) I am currently outputting at 3x the productivity of the workers here who have worked as much as 7 years in this position. My total experience in this industry is MAYBE nearing 1 year at this point.
This doesn’t include all of the soft contributions I make, like buying my coworkers drinks, cleaning up, and getting extra tasks done (that aren’t logged).
Guess whose base wage is highest. Hint: it’s not mine.
