I’m so fucking sick of hearing this. Had an interview at a resraurant this morning and got told this for the millionth time. A classic bullshit excuse used to hire you for shit pay and conditions, and then they hire someone else for the position you were supposed to “move up to” A great reminder how horrible the restaurant industry is. Being unemployed has sucked for me but i refuse to be taken advantage of.
P.s. I’ve worked several kitchen/food service jobs and have been told this at every one. Guess how many times i got moved up? ZERO
