“You can’t take both Christmas and New year’s off” okay, then i quit.

This happened at the end of last year, while my boss was making the schedule for December she asked me what my plans were for the holidays, a little context, i live/work/study in a different city then my family, i kindly asked to have a week off from December 24th to 1st of January to visit my parents since i missed both my parent's birthday's since she wouldn't let me take at least 2 days off in a roll to visit (i live 8 hours away from my family) Now shes ranting about how its unacceptable that i want to take both Christmas and new year's off and how we're only allowed to take one off, even though I'll be working from 11 am to 3 pm which is a COMPLETE waste of time and makes it so im unable to go home. “But everyone wants to be with their…

“But everyone wants to be with their families for the holidays, you're not special” yeah karen, but you can go to your parents by bus in 20-30 mins, i have to catch a train for the next 8 hours. Needless to say i put my 2 weeks notice and left in the middle of December.
