“You get used to it” is what my supervisor said when I made a comment about a lack of work-life balance

Supervisor asked me to come in for someone yesterday and I told him no, I have not had a day off in a week. His response was “you get used to it.” This was after a very long and hellish day where I was supposed to work with a high needs client that I have never worked with, with zero training and zero guidance. This client was non-verbal and was a one-on-one. I have never worked with a client like that before. “But did you read his plan of care?” Was a question I got. I kept telling my coworkers that I felt like I was treading water all day. One coworker told me that that's normal at first but you will begin to adjust. She said “I used to cry all of the time from frustration and stress from the job, it's normal.” What the fuck? No, it's not normal. None of this is normal. You shouldn't be crying because of your job. And it is also not normal to not have a work-life balance. You should not be expected to “get used to it”.
