We have been forced back into the office instead of letting people continue to work from home, which to most employees has been effective over the pandemic. Most people at my company work on a computer all day and there’s absolutely no reason we
can’t work from home and meet over zoom.
Management let us know that the understand that they understand that we miss working from home because “we can wear our comfy clothes.” So as a “treat” we can wear our lounge wear on Fridays to the office.
This is not a replacement to a wfh policy. It’s not just “comfy clothing” that we miss. It’s the commute time, the freedom to do chores at lunch, it’s the pets, the comfort of home, the fluorescent office lights and uncomfortable chairs that gave me headaches. It was the lying about telling us they would consider flexible work environments and then ripping it away.
