My ex works at an auto parts store and took the job with the understanding that his parenting time is 2 evenings a week and every other weekend. They make him beg for, trade for, and miss his parenting time because they’re short staffed. They’re short staffed because the manager is a douchebag. He once fired a girl on the spot for leaving at her scheduled time when he wanted her to stay late with no notice— because she had a sleeping infant at home and her babysitter couldn’t stay late.
I’ve been stealing his employees at the rate of 2-3 per month. My company offers real work/life balance, autonomy, flex hours, higher pay and better benefits plus 3 1/2 weeks of vacation per year that begins accruing immediately. Oh, and instead of being yelled at if they “lean” or try to sit, they all get fancy chairs and fulfilling work fighting homelessness.
My ex is the team lead and gives them all glowing references after sending them my way. He’d quit but we’re leaving the state in 3 months anyway. He can’t wait to tell him why everyone is leaving.
