Your “hard earned retirement” could never come. Each day is showing it to me.

Turning 20 in a few months and life is already beating the hell out of me 9 hours a day 5 days a week. I’ve been working in a long term care retirement home for a few months and it’s just baffling that we are expected to work until like 65 and even more while the half of the retirement home (about 200 persons) is around this age. Not a single one of them is able to live by themselves and they’re right in the retirement age sweet spot. From mental illnesses to organ failures or all sorts of incapacitating things they’re here agonizing and suffering while they’re technically in the “hard earned retirement” time. It’s saddening and infuriating at the same time to see this on a daily basis and I honestly can’t bear working anymore.
