I work at a small accounting firm as a CPA. We only have a couple employees, so our healthcare plan is horrible and only one provider in my area accepts it.
I need to have a cyst removed from my arm that might be cancerous, but that provider is only open from 9-3 M-F. I asked my boss to leave early one day for the procedure and he said “sorry, I can't give you off this time of year. When I told him leaving work early is the only way I can get the surgery, he said “figure it out, everyone else uses the healthcare and doesn't miss work for it.”
