For context, I have been doing things outside my job description like making power points for my boss’ presentations. I was doing it because it gets me to do something new and learn more and have rapport with my managers. I work from home so I roll out of bed 15 mins before my shift like everyone else. I am not on call and this is something not part of my job. The secretary questioned me about why I didn’t answer. I told her I am not awake before my shift.
She said it was an emergency. I’m sorry but your emergency is not my emergency. I was sleeping. The emergency was to fix presentation slide that they could fix themselves. I am not awake before my shift so I am not even ignoring you. I am asleep. Call me 20-30 times and it won’t make a difference. I won’t hear it because I am not awake. I was also feeling sick last night and this morning. Why didn’t you double check the power point during work hours? That’s not my fault. Thats your poor planning.
To top it off, the power point didn’t end up being used in the meeting this morning. I am not at your beck and call. I am so sick of these people.
