Writing a book and need a little help.

I’m currently writing a book where the seven deadly sins are a core theme. Each chapter (or episode) of the story is about one of the sins, and I’m trying to incorporate a subject that I can satirize. For sloth, I’m trying to satirize the “nobody wants to work anymore” mentality. For context, the story of the chapter takes place on a tropical island (which is a mix of Key West, Puerto Rico, and Hawaii) where the workers of a fruit plantation have all gone on strike. They’re all pissed off at their boss because his treatment is horrible and he makes the working conditions awful. Of course, the boss just thinks the workers are lazy bums and that they don’t want to work anymore. I’m looking for some inspiration for this chapter, so I’d like to hear your stories about how you’ve been treated by a bad boss or…

How do you deal with a long commute?

Hi, I got a new job in the next few weeks. They're paying me $28/hr., with benefits, PTO, and more. I am very happy to get this job, as it sounds much better than the current job I have where I will be resigning. The only trade-off is that the commute is 60-90 minutes every morning. I am very grateful to have this position, but admittedly I do wonder how this is going to affect my health long-term. What's been your experience with long commutes?

I work in IT as a first year

And went to target today and saw the starting pay at $17 an hour for a new hire. I make $18 am hour troubleshooting network and computer issues. Everyone deserves living wage but I'd like to hear from the capitalist supporters how this is good for the “free market?”

Serious question: how do I report an abusive manager for violating the COVID Employment Rights Act? He made this person come in anyways. This was the final straw.

Massachusetts worker not allowed to take a break

My cousin works at an unnamed underground sandwich artistry shop in Massachusetts. Yesterday he told me everyone in the shop is scheduled for 6 hour solo shifts, so they can't take breaks. In New York I know after 4 hours you're obligated to be given a 15 minute break, and I think 6 hours is the minimum for a half hour. I don't know about Massachusetts but I'd think they'd be obliged to offer at least one 15 minute break? What can he (or I as an anonymous complainer so I don't get him in trouble) do to get this to someone's attention that this store is no doubt breaking labor laws?
