Worked at a dog kennel and day care. Today my boss called me in and said I can't wear my earplugs. There was an incident with a dog bite but I can still hear enough to hear if two dogs are starting to get into it. There wasn't any of that. It must have been a quick strike.
She must think they block out everything. They do not.
Also she mentioned I couldn't hear the other employees. Uhhh, no one can hear anyone. It's a concrete floored, metal walled building filled with barking dogs. She just never actually spends that much time back there.
I am sad about missing some of the dogs. One is a lab named Chubbs and he is/was my buddy and my favorite. He's such a sweetie.
The other employees don't like him, one just yells at him all the time. He often is just put in a kennel by himself.
PPE should be encouraged, not forbiddened.
A dogs bark is avg between 80-100 decibels. Now make that multiple dogs, sometimes a dozen +.
