Background – I am on a contract, runs out 31st dec always been assured that I’m going to be extended. Currently on parental leave (working 2 days instead of full time). Also still Work from home, never been in office. I haven’t been performance managed in this role, never received feedback I’m not doing well.
2 weeks ago I had a meeting, on teams, with my boss, he only spoke about the plans for me for 2023. What my role will become, potential pay rise, more responsibilities, I need to take more leave, ect.
So I left that meeting pretty confident that my contract would be extended or even be made permanent. Based on that discussion.
Fast forward Thursday my boss books a meeting with his boss. They tell me I’m not being extended. When I asked why and for feedback they both said “quality” and didn’t elaborate.
When I brought up that I felt like everything was moving towards myself being extended based on past meetings, I was told “sorry you interpreted it that way and wasn’t what they were trying to imply”
