I have a stomach condition that basically flares the fuck up whenever I least expect it. When I let my manager know, why the fuck is it my responsibility to find coverage? Is the job of a manager not to manage the gotdamn operation of store including who’s working what days? It’s been this way for two companies that I’ve worked for and I’m so frustrated that it’s normalized where I live (Ontario Canada). If I ask my coworker to cover they’ll say no, but if my manager who has authority asks they’ll say yes and save everyone a panic attack and headache. Sorry for the rant everyone. I like my workplace, really I do, but sometimes company policies and procedures get on my last nerve. Don’t even get my started on “I’m part time but working full time hours because that way the company doesn’t have to pay me…

Popcorn Union
We got an anti union speech from the supervisor this morning. He basically said if you join the people currently talking about and giving out info on unionizing, you'll probably be fired. But to come to them with any issues (open door policy) as in if you don't like it, the exit door is open.
Position was Dissolved
My position was ‘dissolved’ and my hospital will be handed to another to manage. So…you are removing the position of the practice manager, but having another practice manager from a different hospital manage my hospital too. Um…doesn’t sound like your ‘dissolving’ my position, it sounds like you are firing me. Veterinary Practice Manager here, been field for 23 years and at this hospital for 2 years. Was supposed to have a managing veterinarian as my partner to help drive business and increase profits. For some reason corporate just cannot find a veterinarian for the hospital – FOR 2 YEARS! I have been working with relief veterinarians only, and they do not have a vested interest in growing the practice and most of them don’t do surgery. They are there for a paycheck only. I built up a great team and improved client service and patient care. Clients want consistency of…
Manager said we can’t pocket tips?
I work at a bar in the UK and we have no integrated tip system, only in cash tips. We have a ‘jar’ for cash tips, which I have not seen emptied in the whole month i’ve been working here. As a result, people pocket their tips – or at the least they split the tips between other people on their shifts. Our manager who literally never is on shift, just doing ‘admin’ from home has caught wind of this somehow. She’s said if anyone is caught pocketing tips it is a disciplinary issue. This to me, is absolutely ridiculous. Tips exist as a way to reward us personally for the work we are doing in a fairly low paid job, i’m beginning to think she’s wanted to take some of our tips for herself. So I will continue pocketing tips. Sometimes i can make £30-40 a night just off…
Caitlin Jenner
Caitlin Jenner saying on the FullSend Podcast she was struggling because she purchased a car for 175 bucks and had an apartment for 145 a month is proof how different the baby boomers are so out of touch with today's generation.
Translation: we don’t pay our employees.
“Fuck your suits I’ll keep my boots”
I used to work at petsmart. In may I’ll be finishing my associates in business, and as such I started applying to banks to work at. I got a job at a credit union “AmeriCU”. I have my two weeks notice to my manager last Saturday. Next weeks schedule came out today. I have had ALL of my hours cut for this week (I usually would work 20-25). EXCEPT I have to work 10-6:30 on Easter Sunday. Which would have also been my last day of employment there. First time working a Sunday shift too. Usually I’d only ever be scheduled for weekdays at our location. Should I even go in?
