I hate my job but it pays well. It’s made me unhappy and has a negative effect on my marriage. I want to get out of the management side of things and be back in the field, being a doer without having to take so much home with me and be on 24/7. The whole reason I took this job a few years back was to give us a financial cushion so we wouldn’t have to stress but given the stress of the job I don’t know if it’s worth it to hang on. The flip side is my wife and I have been able to do more fun things, save each month, and be more independent from our controlling families. I like the respect I’ve seemingly gained for said family members. There’s value in that, but to hang on to this timebomb just to please others is wrong too…

“Out of line”
Apparently I'm out of line for telling my supervisor that if he wants to change my schedule, to give me at least a full days notice & not to spring it on me 3 hours before I'm scheduled that you want me in 2 hours early. Oh well, I'm actively looking for new work anyway
Could be worse
I have no skills so always end up in shitty jobs. I work very hard which is quite rare in these shit, meaningless jobs. It helps keep people off my back, allowing me to get away with alot of stuff. I steal almost everyday I'm at work. Usually stuff I need but sometimes I just do it out of spite. I've saved so much money from just stealing food. Ez

i think I’m driving the car
About a month ago i had an interview with a company that seemed to have it together more than my current company but i stopped the process when they told me the budget for the role was less than i am currently paid. I told the woman on the phone that the people and the company seem great but i need to make more than i am currently if I'm going to switch jobs. Well she just emailed me about a re: recruitment process. (We'll be in touch tomorrow) I have a feeling they, like every other company, are struggling for people and might be willing to expand their budget to get me on board. Has anyone else been through something similar?
This one trick employers HATE!
With Covid being rampant the last 2 years the company I work for has put in strict Covid protocols to keep us from getting others sick. The protocol has been that if anyone is feeling sick or showing any related symptoms then we have to call a third party called “Medcor” and from whatever they recommend our company follows the policy and I have to notify all the right channels of the situation. We accrue 1 sick day for every year, so this year I started off with 3 sick days but very quickly had 0 because in January we all caught Covid and then in February we all got the stomach flu which I mixed with unpaid sick time and my paid sick time off. Two weeks ago i worked in the rain which in turn got me really sick and I lost my voice over the weekend. I…
I love to drive to work, slamming on the break and pressing the gas every 2 seconds, just for a job that I can do remotely. But too bad! Company believes that sysadmins need to be in the office and “must have face to face communication”, or else they are doing us a disservice working remotely and not building relationships…
