So, I handed my notice in to be finished by the end of April as per our companies 4 week notice policy, I actually gave over 5 weeks notice (we are short staffed and know they will struggle to even find someone in this time frame). This took place years ago when I was a young 23yo chef. I was working for a third party company as a salary private chef at a fraternity while also working as a waiter part time for a different place. It was a Monday to Friday 9-5 job but part of my contract included some unspecified Saturdays. A side note being I was a full time server at my other job making more money but cut down to part time to get more specificly into my field with my culinary degree. My coworker, who was coordinating next week’s schedule, texted me on my day off to see if I wanted to work next week on my day off. After spending much time on this sub, I decided to ignore it and respond when I get to work in the morning. The next morning at 6am she group texts me with my boss calling me out for not responding.

I feel like managers and bosses should be forbidden from having relationships with workers, this seems over the top and heavy handed but when managers and bosses chat it up with employees it can cause drama and give some employees the “special” treatment which makes other employees work harder to cover for them. My last job a year or so ago had a manager who would take the same girl over and over out of her class to talk and check up on, i understand having a friendly workplace but when you leave a full classroom of 7 year olds unattended to have quality time with your employee while not telling anyone,, i feel like its crossing a line, thats all
