I recommend everyone post simple messages encouraging unionization and working conditions on online reviews. This is especially important for large companies such as Amazon, Walmart, Starbucks, Target, etc. Use an account under a different name if you have to. Remember, while an individual post will do little, if you we collaborate, we are poised to make a change! Please upvote!, it is important that this reaches the most people as possible!

Let go when “it wasn’t busy anymore”?
I quit my job as a kitchen porter to start working a part-time weekend job at this furniture and home decoration store in the second half of October 2021. I loved the job and pulled my weight. As as soon as the 10th of January 2022 (aka when the Christmas Rush was over) they let me go, giving me the 2 weeks pay without having me work the 2 weeks. They didn't give me a reason why other than “its just to quiet to keep you around”. But its very obvious that they always planned on firing me as soon as Christmas was over. They never mentioned that they only needed me for the busy Christmas period and knew that I had quit a job to work there. Now I cant find any part time weekend work because no one is hiring. Is this a normal thing for employers to…
State law is that employees must have a mandatory 30 minute meal break per 5+ hour shift. I haven’t taken a break since probably November. My blood sugar is slowly getting back to normal since I’ve eaten (I have problems with regulating it). I feel so relieved. But now I’m just thinking about how many more shifts I’ll go through with no break. I’m a pushover so I let it happen to me. How do I stand up for myself more and ask managers to take breaks instead of waiting for them to come to me?
At my job there are four main roles that I have to assign people to do everyday, as Sup. There's one specific role people generally dislike as it requires dealing with customers significantly more than the others. We discussed in the management meeting how to generate more interest in filling this role and also boost sales by using an incentive (sell X products, get Y thing free). We all agreed this was a good idea that we'd move forward with. Fast forward a week, and the incentive is an incredible success. People were openly volunteering to do that role, and we sold completely out of the products they wanted to upsell almost immediately. Everyone was stoked and started asking what the challenge was every morning. Now, the other day we have another manager meeting, and immediately the other Sups and the managers start grumbling that “everyone keeps asking about the…
I know your internet law degree is very important to you. I have a real law degree and I would never ever do what I see here constantly. Posters confidentially tell OP they have no rights, don’t bother. Just move on. Unless and until you talk to a local attorney about all the details, you have no fucking idea. No idea at all. Call the labor board. Call the bar association for a referral. Call the local law school to see if they do pro bono. Call the local legal aid. Call call call. Even if you don’t have rights, you’ll learn a lot. You might preserve a claim next time, you might help others. Shut the fuck up when you’re telling people they have no rights. ETA: I’m going to back away and let the convo develop but here’s some insight: Client interviews are hard because lay people focus…
