Let me hang this in my living room
I'm really surprised that this sub hasn't worked together to have a spot on rplace. Anyone want to make this happen?
I worked for decades just to have health insurance that was somewhat, but less and less paid for by the company. At the same time, deductibles went up, coverage went down and to a large degree one could still go bankrupt while have standard company health insurance if they came down with a costly illness or injury. In 2019, I got on Obamacare and picked a plan that would limit my out of pocket costs. I ended up paying about $250 a month for very good insurance that let me see my same MD and had me covered 100% for an almost certain ablation procedure that ended up being certain by the fall of 2020. The procedure might have run $25-40k but there was a complication that caused me to spend 5 nights in the hospital for a grand total of $440,000. Here’s the situation. I’ve worked for about 9 months in a field work job for an environmental company. I accepted it because I need some experience in a field related to my degree, and the pay and benefits are decent. The pay is only acceptable because under my former boss, we could pad our hours as much as we wanted with no questions asked, so we got a lot of overtime…
Boss Making Me Work on Honeymoon
I just got married and am very excited for my honeymoon to Cambodia. My wife and I do not get to take off of work often so this was a very welcomed break. I put in my request off on January 1 and my boss approved this the next day. However, my boss is now asking my to attend a client pitch meeting on day 3 of my honeymoon. He says that this is a very important deal and he needs me just for this one day. Given that this is my honeymoon I said absolutely not. He responded that it is only one day and if he cannot depend on me for this important revenue generating meetin he is not sure that he can depend on me as a member of the team going forward. He doesn't seem to understand that I cannot simply fly back to America from…
